Dana Marie Hawkins, age 54, of Anderson, SC, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, September 11, 2023. Born January 10, 1969, in Greer, SC, she was the daughter of Rebecca Davis Fitzgerald and the late Roger D. Hawkins. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Todd Hawkins; and grandparents, R.M. Davis and Marie Davis. Dana was a graduate of Pendleton High School Class of 1987. One of her passions was reading. She read the Bible faithfully and enjoyed books by Christian authors. She loved witnessing to others, sharing her personal experiences and testimony. She loved phone conversations and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her stepfather, Donald L. Fitzgerald, Sr.; and caregiver, Mark Combs. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 17, 2023, at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Collins officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shepard Center Foundation (Shepard Spinal Center), 2020 Peachtree Rd. NW, Atlanta, GA 30309. The family will be at the home of her mother and stepfather.
