Obituary

Danny Coons, 73, of Iva, SC, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Rainey Hospice House.

Danny was born April 24, 1951, in Lexington, KY. He was a son of the late Raymond Coons and the late Eva Coons. He spent his working career as a dispatcher manager, and he also worked as a warehouse manager. Danny was not afraid of hard work and provided well for his family.

He loved music and his favorite singer was Elvis Presley. Danny collected albums and had a collection of over 3,000 albums. You never saw Danny without music playing somewhere near him. He loved life itself and his favorite saying was, "Life is what you make it." Danny believed we were all responsible for making our life either good or bad. He had many friends and treated each one like family. Danny's loving heart would give the shirt off his back to anyone needing help. He loved his friends, but he loved his family more. His kindness and whacky jokes will always be remembered, and he will always be missed.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Coons; sons, Anthony Coons (Mary Rose) and Danny Mullins; sisters, Connie Wolfe and Shirley Wheeler; brother, Raymond Wheeler; his wonderful grandchildren, Aaron Coons and Clara Coons; and 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren living in Ohio.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, at Iva City Cemetery, at 1:00 pm with Pastor Tim Farmer officiating. Following the service, the family will gather at the Iva Mac-Civic Center to visit with friends and family.
