Leslie Darrell Boyette, Sr., age 87, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025, at home.

Born January 1, 1938, in Rockingham, NC, he was the son of the late Raymond Boyette and Adjie Graham Boyette. He was married to Sue Catherine Sweatt Boyette until her death in 2022. He was also preceded in death by 7 siblings.

Darrell loved sports and excelled in football, basketball, and track in his high school days. He graduated from North Carolina State University receiving a bachelor's degree in textiles. He worked in product development at Shaw Industries until his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed fishing off the pier at the beach. He also enjoyed traveling and working in his vegetable garden. He and his wife both enjoyed singing together in their church choirs in Rockingham and then at Boulevard Baptist Church where he also served as a deacon in his earlier years. He was a current member of First Baptist Church of Anderson. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his son, Leslie Darrell Boyette, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Kimberly Sue Boyette Thompson (Larry) of Anderson, SC; granddaughter, Taylor Elizabeth Torbert (James) of Columbia, SC; and great grandchildren, Lucy and Molly.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 10:00-10:45 am at The McDougald Funeral Home. The memorial service will begin at 11:00 am in the Chapel with Dr. Jim Wooten officiating.
