David Burney Drake Belton, SC David Burney Drake, age 87, of Belton, passed away on February 20, 2014, at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Salem, SC, he was the son of the late James Ralph Drake and the late Susie Burney Drake. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp during World War II and earned the top airman award in 1960 in the United States Air Force Reserves. He was a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church and the Men's Sunday School Class. He was a cabinet maker and farmer his entire life. He is survived by his children, David Michael Drake, Carolyn Reynolds, and Ann Myers and her husband, Danny Myers; a brother, Clayburn Burney Drake; two sisters, Martha Sue Maloney and Beulah Carolyn Martin; ten grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Patterson Drake; two brothers, Robert and James Edward Drake; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Davis Drake The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, Febraury 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Union Grove United Methodist Church with Reverend Amy Bratton, Reverend Terry Martin and Reverend Howard Addis officiating. Interment will follow at Union Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the residence, 1330 Dorchester Road, and will receive friends at the church, prior to the service on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Flowers will be accepted.
