David Benson Gurley, age 58, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 17, 2015. Born in St. Petersburg, FL, he was the son of the late John C. Gurley, Jr. and the late Dorothy L. Crocker Gurley. He was a 1976 graduate of Pendleton High School and was employed by the Storage Place of Anderson. David loved animals and was an avid Gamecock fan. He is survived by his brothers, John C. Gurley, III and his wife RoseAnn, and Steve L. Gurley and his wife Joyce; and his nieces and nephews, Brenda Riggins and her husband Clint, Cynthia Wurst and her husband Tommy, Chuck Gurley and his wife Kendra, and Rodney Gurley and his wife Colleen. The family will be at the home of Tommy and Cynthia Wurst, 121 Fleet Drive, Anderson and will receive friends on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at The McDougald Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will be a private family graveside service held at a later date.
