David Lee Hampton, age 92, formerly of the Flat Rock Community, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home where he resided for the last 11 months.

Born April 24, 1932, in the Orr Mill community of Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Wade Lee Hampton and Viola Stephens Hampton. He was married to Iona "Omie" Ellis Hampton until her death in 2000. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Wade Earl Hampton, Sr. and Carl T. Hampton; and sister, Ida Ruth Hampton. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

David Lee was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from the textile industry after 50 years of service. He enjoyed simple living, watching NASCAR races and game shows. He was a mason and member of Ruff Lodge #240.

He is survived by his nephew Wade E. Hampton, Jr. and his wife Jamie; and two great nieces, Julie Phillips and her husband Jeremy and April Raines and her husband Jeff.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 2:00 pm at New Silver Brook Cemetery with Rev. Garrett Hart officiating. The family will speak with guests immediately following the service at the cemetery.
