David Pickney Latham, age 83, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2016 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Iva, SC on June 9, 1932, he was the son of the late Boss Latham and the late Mary Campbell Latham. David proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Veterans of Foreign Wars. He worked for Piedmont Natural Gas for more than 30 years where he retired. He was a Mason of Hiram Lodge; Assistant Boy Scout Leader; and avid Atlanta Braves enthusiast. He was a lifetime member of Pope Drive Baptist Church where he was a member of the Robinson-Long Sunday School Class. He was truly loved by his family and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Omega Gray Latham; a son, David Gray Latham; brothers, Rudolph and Major Latham; and sisters, Lillian Latham and Reba Banich, all of Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert, Gene, and Dwaine Latham; and sisters, Loneta Dunn and Elizabeth Tucker. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with the Reverend Matthew Danuser officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service on Wednesday, from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm.
