The McDougald Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 2211 North Main Street Anderson, South Carolina 29621 864-224-4343 Obituary: David Love Starr, SC David Rudolph Love, age 77, husband of Janice Lee Hicks Love, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Rainey Hospice House. Born in Anderson, SC, on November 26, 1936 he was the son of the late William David Love and the late Nettie Stone Love. Mr. Love graduated from LaFrance High School then went on to serve in the Vietnam War with the United States Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller and Flight Instructor. After retiring he moved back to Anderson in 1977 and worked for White's Aviation as a Flight Instructor. He attended Gethsemane Baptist Temple; he also enjoyed working on Automobiles and playing music with the Cross Over Band. He is survived by his wife and children; Terri (Mike) DuPuis, Tim (Lexami) Love, and Mike Love all of Washington State; two step-children, Christopher Fortson of McCormick and Cory ( Samantha) Fortson of Starr; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother, William "Art" Love of Sandy Springs; sisters, Patricia Soedor and Shelby Love both of Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Shayron Staggs; brother, Kenneth Love. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Sam Duncan officiating. Interment will follow at M. J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery will full military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 1:00 pm until2:00 pm. The family will be at the residence.
