Matthews and Eva Hattie Mullins Matthews. He was a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict.Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Careline Frances McNealy Matthews; son, David R. Matthews, Jr., and wife, Peggy of Townville, SC; daughter, Esther Jean McNabb and husband, Len of Chattanooga, TN; brother, Robert Matthews of St. Albans, WV; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.He was also predeceased by one sister, Blanche M.
