David Jackson McGuffin, Sr., age 90, of Anderson, SC, devoted husband to the late Kaye Norton McGuffin until her death in 2014, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Rainey Hospice House. Born May 11, 1932, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late James Bearden McGuffin and Pearlie Ransom McGuffin. David proudly served his country with a lifelong career as a culinary specialist in the United States Air Force retiring as Staff Sergeant. He enjoyed fishing, riding through the country, and going to Cherokee. He is survived by his children, Angel Coe (Kevin), Tammy Dyar (Neal), Miranda Coe (Roger), and James McGuffin (Ashley); 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and sister, Evelyn. In addition to his parents, and loving wife, he was also preceded in death by his son, David J. McGuffin, II; brothers, Clarence, Clyde, Edward, and Charles; and sisters, Maybell and Dora. The family will receive friends Monday, April 3, 2023, from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow visitation in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. David Pickens and Mr. Jacob Coe officiating. Burial will follow at M.J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the Campbell Patriots. Those serving as pallbearers will be Kevin, Georgina, James, Bryan, Josh, and Jacob. The family will be at their respective homes. Flowers will be accepted.
