David Moore, age 84, of Anderson, SC, devoted husband of the late Jean C. Moore, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born in Newburgh, NY on February 17, 1929, he was the son of the late Samuel S. Moore and the late Elizabeth G. Moore. Mr. Moore served in the US Army Infantry as an Adjunct General. He retired from the Stauffer Chemical Company, where he was a Sales Service Manager. He also worked for Detroit Body Products in Wixom, MI. Mr. Moore returned to Anderson in 1991 where he was a member of the Elks Lodge and for the last several years he volunteered his services at Select Insurance. He was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Moore is survived by one brother, Robert M. Moore (Judy) of Myrtle Beach, SC; one sister, Jean McCurrey of Surfside Beach, SC; his Anderson family, Joey and Debbie Hedden and their children Georgia Devore (Bryan) and Justin Hedden. In addition to his parents, Mr. Moore was preceded in death by one brother, Steve Moore and two sisters, Elizabeth Case and Ellen Rhodes. The memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2014, at 3:30PM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.
