March 9, 1928 - February 26, 2009 IVA, SCDavid Felton Osborne, Jr., age 80, husband of Mary Frances Osborne, of 9410 Highway 81 South, died Thursday, February 26, 2009, at his residence.Born in Iva, SC, on March 9, 1928, Mr. Osborne was the son of the late David Felton Osborne, Sr., and Flora Lewis Osborne. He retired from Jackson Mill with 34 years of service and later retired from Orr-Lyons Mill with 3 years of service. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church where he was a member of the Fidelis Sunday School class and a former Deacon.Survivors include his wife of the home; son, David Robert Osborne of Iva; daughters, Carole Walsh of Clemson and Julie Ann White and her husband, Jim, of Anderson; granddaughter, Breanna Osborne; grandsons, Matthew Osborne and Zachary Walsh; nephews, James Metz, Gary Metz, Ronnie Evans, Bill Evans, Charles Howard and Tommy Metz; nieces, Gail Howard, Sara Joyce Metz, Brenda Earle and Cindy Sears; brother-in-law, Winford 'Big Boy' Metz.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Willie Howard, Mary Metz, Clyde Evans, Louise Shaw and infant brother, James Osborne. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2009, at 4:00 PM at Good Hope Baptist Church officiated by the Reverends Jamie Duncan, Curtis Bundy and Dr. Robbie Garrett. His nephews will serve as Pallbearers. Mr. Butch Gurley and the Fidelis Sunday School class will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Interment will follow in Iva City Cemetery.The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home from 6-8 PM on Saturday, February 28, 2009.The family will be at the home.Flowers are optional.
