Debora Marvin Shaw, age 73, of Hartwell, GA, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2025.

Born March 20, 1952, in Anderson County, SC, she was the beloved daughter of the late Marvin Edward Shaw and Miriam Ozmint Shaw.

The Shaw family name holds a longstanding place in the history of her hometown, Iva, South Carolina, where Debora was raised and remained deeply connected throughout her life. In her earlier years, Debora worked as a beautician, bringing warmth and care to all who sat in her chair. Later in life she applied her skills and dedication to the family-owned business where she was involved in both automobile and real estate sales. She then went on to own her own business, Demarv Properties, until her health kept her home.

A devoted Christian, Debora carried her faith quietly yet steadfastly throughout her life of the Baptist denomination.

She had a lifelong love of cars-whether antique or new-and enjoyed sharing that passion with family and friends. In her later years, she found great peace at her home on Lake Hartwell, where she delighted in watching the cardinals, the deer wander her yard and taking in the serene view of the water.

Though she was a private person, she was known by many and deeply loved by those closest to her.

Debora is survived by and deeply missed by her family Ray and Crystal (niece) Boles, Caitlin (great niece), Oliver and Owen McGill (great-great nephews).

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Gray officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service from 5:00-7:00 pm.
