Deborah Kay Hayes Patterson, age 69, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at her home.

Born February 11, 1955, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Jackie A. Hayes, Sr. and Dorothy Lee Keown Hayes. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Lon and Annie Mae Hayes, and Myron and Eunice Keown.

Debbie was a devout Christian having accepted Christ when she was 8 years old. She was an avid reader and loved all of her Bibles. She was a teacher and educator who loved her career. Debbie was a loving and kind woman who loved God and her family. She was married to the love of her life Gary for nearly 50 years, and they shared so many wonderful memories together. She was a wonderful wife, mother, Mimi, sister, daughter, and friend and will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Patterson; children, Jason Hayes Patterson, Julie Patterson Candler (Paul), and Andrea Patterson Tolar (David); brothers, Jackie A. Hayes, Jr. (Sandy), Daniel L. Hayes (Susie), and Phillip B. Hayes (Tamara); sisters, Judy Buchanan (John) and Theresa Knight (Rickey); and grandchildren, Emma Miller, Rhys Miller, Ella Rose Tolar, Clara Patterson, Benjamin Patterson, Charlotte Patterson, and Catherine Patterson.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 2:00 pm at River of Life Church of God with Rev. Dale Dyar officiating. Entombment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00-1:30 pm.
