Mrs. Delle Daniel Kelly, age 96, of Anderson, SC, loving wife to the late James Walter Kelly, Jr. for 70 years until his death in 2015, passed away Saturday, April 9, 2022, at Rainey Hospice House. Born August 8, 1925, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Homer Melvin Daniel, MD, and Ann Eugenia Hentz Daniel. Delle was a graduate of Furman University earning her bachelor's degree in English. She was a proud mother of five children and was a leader with the Girl Scouts and Campfire Girls. Delle loved growing all types of flowers in her yard and enjoyed watching the birds at the birdfeeder. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church where she was a lifetime member of the Women of the Church. She is survived by her children, Suzanne Chapman (David) of Anderson, SC, James W. Kelly, III (Jean) of Dacula, GA, Merry Rodgers of Columbia, SC, Jeann Baylor (Trevor) of Loganville, GA, and Frances Fleck (William) of Lilburn, GA; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. In addition to her husband, and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Frances D. Parr, and Susie D. Lee; and son-in-law, William Wayne Rodgers. The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Dr. Dennis Tedder officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the cemetery. The family wishes to thank the caregivers of Home Instead and all the nurses and staff at Hospice of the Upstate for their loving care shown to Mrs. Kelly.
