Delma Louise Nixon Shaw, age 92, of Starr, SC, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born September 12, 1933, in Anderson County, SC, she was the only child of the late R.C. Nixon and Nell Stuart Nixon. She was married for 67 years to Edward Lee Shaw until his death in 2019.

Delma was a graduate of Starr School and previously worked at Starr Mill. She also took pride in being the first lady Bailiff in Anderson County. She was formerly the Director of Music at Starr Baptist Church for 40 years and also directed special musical events for the Saluda Baptist Association. She was a member of WMU, the Order of the Eastern Star, and First Baptist Church of Iva.

Delma was a talented baker and was known for her Italian cream and coconut cakes. She won many first place and blue ribbons at the Anderson County Fair with her desserts! Most of all, she loved her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the apple of her eyes, and they loved their "Nana."

She is survived by her sons, Larry Shaw (Theresa) and Gary Shaw (Lindy); grandsons, Reese Shaw (Leann), Jake Shaw (Harley), and T.J. Shaw (fiancé Amanda); and great grandchildren, Ava Shaw, Connor Shaw, Baylor Shaw and Charlie Shaw.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Iva with Pastor Mike McMinn officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 1:00-2:30 pm.

Flowers will be accepted. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Iva, PO Box 475, Iva, SC 29655 and to PAWS, 1320 US-29, Anderson, SC 29626, in honor of Delma's love for her cats.
