DELPHIA JOHNSON October 8, 1921 - September 25, 2012 ANDERSON, SC Delphia Mae Johnson, age 90, of Anderson, passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Rabun Gap, GA, she was the daughter of the late John Chappell and the late Nancy Mize Chappell. Delphia attended West Whitner Baptist Church and was retired as a weaver from Abney Mills. An avid quilter, she enjoyed making quilts for all of her family and special friends. She was known for her delicious food, great hugs and a wonderful loving spirit. She will be missed by all who knew her. She was the loving and gracious mother to her sons, Thomas Johnson and his wife Debbie, Jack Johnson and his wife Cathy, Lewis Johnson and his wife Kathy and William Johnson, all of Anderson; and her daughters, Linda Rice and her husband Rod of Clemson, SC, Betty McLane and her husband Roger of Aiken, Margaret Hanks and her husband Glenn of Anderson and Mary Altom and her husband Bruce of Easley; she is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Johnson; a granddaughter, Rhonda Lewis; five sisters and one brother. The Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of the McDougald Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Durham officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
