Denise Frances Freidenberg Barfield, age 70, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. Born October 12, 1952, in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late John William Freidenberg and Ramona Irba Freidenberg. Denise was formerly employed with Medicus and retired after 14 years of faithful service. She was an avid sports fan, especially college football, and loved the Clemson Tigers. She enjoyed arts and crafts and had a special talent for creating beautiful flower arrangements. Denise was known for her giving spirit and her desire to put others before herself. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jack Barfield; son, Jacky Barfield of San Diego, CA.; daughter, Althea Scarbrough (Justin) of Hampstead, NC; brother, Rolfe Freidenberg (Gina) of Hamburg, NY; and grandchildren, Benjamin and Connor Scarbrough.
