Denise Marie Thompson, age 60, of Anderson, SC, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born July 9, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Gunther Kotzian, Sr. and Irmgard Heisig Kotzian. Denise was an avid crafter and enjoyed painting landscapes and portraits. She is survived by her husband of over 29 years, Richard Lee Thompson; brother, G.K. Kotzian; sisters, Donna Kotzian, and Bonnie Bell; in-laws, Billy Bell, Matthew Thompson, Jeff Thompson, Sonya Thompson, and Kim Thompson; nephews, Criss Bell, Zach Thompson, Aaron Thompson, Jake Thompson, Hunter Thompson, and Allen Taylor; niece, Stephanie Taylor; and great-niece, Cloe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Hedwig Heisig. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 16, 2021, from 4:00-6:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home.
