Dennis L. "Denny" Thompson, 76, of Anderson, SC passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born August 27, 1941, in Chicago, IL, he was a son of the late Hubert D. Thompson and the late Helen Halterman Thompson. Dennis was a graduate of Thornton Township High School in Harvey, IL. He was an automotive supervisor for Ford Motor Company for over 30 years and a member of Welcome Baptist Church. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Clemson Tigers fan. Those left to cherish his memories include, Reba Martin and her family; his sons, Rick A. Thompson (Vicky) and Randy L. Thompson; five grandchildren, Peter and Leo Thompson, Alyssa Thompson, Brittany Larson and Carter Thompson; sister, Michele Makarek. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Cridge Thompson. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am Monday, November 27, 2017 at Welcome Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 11:30 am with Rev. William R. West, Jr., and Rev. Hugh Burgess officiating. The Wednesday night prayer group will serve as the honorary escort. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be at the residence.
