Dessie Cann GREENWOOD, SC Dessie Mae Evans Cann, age 93, formerly of Anderson, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at National Health Care in Greenwood, SC. Born in Anderson, SC, on April 8, 1921, Dessie was the daughter of the late Raymond Evans and the late Nancy Jane Turner Evans. She had retired after many years of service from Orr Lyons Mill. She was a former member of The Eastern Star, and was lifelong member of Orrville Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Sue Palmer (Larry) of Greenwood, SC; a brother, Leroy "Bo" Evans of Anderson; a sister, Kathleen Parham of Anderson; two grandsons, Russell Palmer and Scott Palmer; four great-grandchildren, Spencer, Taylor, Anna Kate, and Nicklaus; and one great-great grandson, Kaiden. In addition to her parents, Dessie was preceded in death by her husband, John Aaron Cann; two brothers, Arnold and Donnie Evans; and four sisters, Lucile Gosnell, Inez Harbin, Lillian Couch, and Penny Evans. The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 26, 2014, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30-1:30 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
