Mr. Dewey R. "Mac" McLane, age 80, of Anderson, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018, at his home. Born May 12, 1937 in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Ewell T. and Ruby Roberts McLane. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church and retired from the U. S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer Radioman after 21 years of service. Following his career in the military, Mac retired from Michelin after 20 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Marvin McLane. Mac is survived by his wife, Helen Culberson McLane; two daughters and sons-in-law, Millie and Randy Molnar of Goose Creek, SC, and Amy and Andy Merck of Seneca, SC; three sisters, Jean (Bob) Dawes, Linda (Jimmy) Lollis, and Faye Slater, all of Anderson; a grandson, Maxwell (Vanessa) Dodson of Fountain Inn; and a great-granddaughter, Muza Dodson. The family will receive friends 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at The McDougald Funeral Home. The graveside service will follow the visitation at 3:00 PM at the Committal Shelter at M. J. "Dolly" Cooper Veterans Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Adams officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC 29621.
