Dezerie Weaver Powell, age 88, of Townville, SC, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born May 8, 1935, in Rock Hill, SC, she was the daughter of the late LeAnder Weaver and Eva Mae Funderburk Weaver. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Barton T. Powell; and 7 siblings. Dezerie had many interests including reading, traveling, and going to yard sales. She loved nature and animals and enjoyed feeding the birds. She never turned down a chance to eat out and especially liked Bojangles. Dezerie loved life and her family and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her son, Calvin L. Williams (Barbara); daughters, Terry Aderhold and Rachel Smith; sister, Jewell Pittman; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Friday, June 9, 2023, at 2:00 pm at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Michael Kinard officiating. The family will receive friends at the Mausoleum Chapel prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 pm.
