Diann W. Patterson, age 56, wife of Joey Patterson, passed away August 19th, 2016, at her home in Anderson. Born in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Homer Whitmire Jr. and the late Nancy Heath Stamps. She graduated from T.L. Hanna in 1978, Clemson University in 1982, with a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education, and Winthrop University in 1987 earning a Master's degree in Educational Media. She was the Media Specialist for Riverside Middle School, in Pendleton for 30 years. She was a member of Boulevard Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister, Gail W. Anderson; a niece, Danielle Anderson; sister-in-law, Faith Richey (John), all of Anderson, SC; brother-in-law, Barry Patterson (Dee), of Williamston, SC; three nephews, Kyle Patterson (Jennifer), of Longmont, CO, Erick Richey (Jessica), of Columbia, SC and Todd Richey (Maradyth), of Bossier City, LA; as well as, several great nieces and nephews, loving friends, and family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Rev. Ray Anderson Jr. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home on Monday, August 22nd , 2016, at 4:30 p.m. with Rev. Mike Hanley officiating. A committal service will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Dr. Kevin Black and Mr. Jeff Burke officiating. Honorary pallbearers will include current and former faculty members of Riverside Middle School. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home, Sunday, August 21st, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Flowers are optional.
