POWELL January 24, 1928 - January 17, 2010ANDERSON, SCDixie Thompson Powell, wife of Robert Neal Powell, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2010, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville.Born in Anderson, SC on January 24, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Lillian Thompson. She was a homemaker and for many years was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels in Anderson. Survivors include her husband of the home; daughter, Teresa Powell of Greenville; sons, Bradley Dean (Gina) Powell of Atlanta and Joseph (Sheila) Powell of Anderson; grandchildren, Haley Harbin and Amanda Martin; great-grandchildren: Alyssa Callaham, Kay Lee Stewart and Isaac Jessamine; and a sister, Dorothy Yates of Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by sons, Robert Terry Powell and Stanley Neal Powell and brothers, Denver and Dalton Thompson. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
