It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Dolores Ballard Huggins, who departed this life on October 17, 2025, at the age of 96.

Born on April 12, 1929, in New York, NY, Dolores lived a life rich with experiences and memories, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. A devoted homemaker, she poured love and care into her family and her home while also managing a bookstore, sharing her passion for reading with others.

Dolores had an infectious spirit; she inspired those around her with her beautiful smile and lively personality. She embraced life with enthusiasm, indulging in her many interests, including music, line dancing, and her beloved pastime of thrifting. No matter where life took her, Dolores bloomed wherever she was planted, turning every new location into a canvas for her vibrant personality.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Carol Smith, of Clemson, SC and her son, James Ballard, of Memphis, TN. As the last immediate member of her family, Dolores's legacy of warmth, style, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents Fredrick H. Wolfe and Lillian Rohr Wolfe, first husband Eugene H. Ballard, second husband Louis F. Huggins, dear friend Roy C. Fleming, and one brother. She was the last surviving member of her family.
