Dolores Villanueva Hammett, age 90, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022 at AnMed Health Medical Center. Born January 8, 1932, in the Philippines, she was a daughter of the late Eusebio Villanueva and Tomasa Leyva Villanueva. She was the widow of Robert H. Hammett. Dolores was a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines. She was a former employee of the Philippine government as the Administrative Chief for the Department of Textiles in Research. She worked at AnMed for many years as a nursing assistant and was retired. Dolores was a member of AARP, the Philippine American Association of the Carolinas, and St. Joseph Catholic Church. She is survived by her son, Anthony Aujero; brother, Manuel Villanueva; sister, Gloria Hart; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Francisco Villanueva and Eusebio Villanueva. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Deacon Salvatore Cancello officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1200 Cornelia Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
