Donald "Don" Dean Hawkins, Sr., 86 of Anderson, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. Born September 15, 1932 in Anderson, he was a lifelong business man and was the son of the late Rev. Claude C. and Susie Wheeler Hawkins. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Erland Brewer, Henry and James Hawkins and sisters, Sara Massey, Stella Roland, Shirley Donald, Frances Cox and Louise Brewer. Don served his country in the United States Army National Guard. Don is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Louise Dockins Hawkins; sons, Donald Dean Hawkins Jr. and Claude Randall Hawkins (Kay); daughter, Cindy Hawkins Hudson (Raymond); sister, Judy Bailey; grandchildren, Travis Hawkins (Jackie), Holli Davis (Jason), Raymond Hudson, Jr. (Courtney), Miranda Carter (Chris) and Jordan Hudson (Anna); great-grandchildren, William Dean Hawkins, Alyssa Cate Carter, Elijah Morrison, Isaac Morrison, Jack Davis, Addison Hudson, Ty Hudson and Hanna Hudson and one great-great grandchild, Jaxon Hayes Morrison. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Friday, December 28, 2018 at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be in the chapel at 11 am Saturday with Rev. Terry Bailey, Rev. John Marshall Daniel and Rev. Mark Dickson officiating. Interment will follow in New Silver Brook Cemetery.
