Donald Payton Hodges, Sr., 84, of Anderson, SC, passed away, Sunday, January 3, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center. He was born November 7, 1936, in Prosper, TX, and was the son of the late Bert Roy Hodges and Faye Addington Hodges. Don was a graduate of Prosper High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from BASF in 1996. Don was a founding member of Broadway Volunteer Fire Department-Station 8, was a past Grand Master of Hiram Masonic Lodge, was a Shriner and was a member of Sierra Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Phillis Annette Waters Hodges of the home; son, Don Hodges, Jr. (Kathy) of Belton, SC; daughter, Donna Mitchell (Perry) of Anderson, SC; brother, Jim Hodges of Garland, TX; sister, Betty Hughes of Prosper, TX; sister-in-law, Patty Snider of Allen, TX; and grandchildren, John Robert Mitchell and Phillip Payton Mitchell. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, C.P. Snider and Herschel Snider. Family and friends may pay their respects and sign the Guest Register on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 between the hours of 10:00 am and 4:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A private graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
