Donald J. Baker, 87, formerly of Rochester, PA, passed away November 15, 2022, in Anderson, SC. Born November 19, 1934, in Beaver Falls, PA, he was the son of the late Maurice and Josephine Tunney Baker. He retired from the former Beaver Valley Medical Center's Laboratory and Nuclear Medicine Department as Laboratory Supervisor, was a member of the St. Cecilia R.C. Church, Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Rochester where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the Rochester VFW #128, BPOE #283, Knights of Columbus Fr. James Reid Council, a former Rochester youth football and baseball coach over 20 years, was a U.S. Navy and Marine Corp. Veteran serving in the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce A. Bergstrom Baker in 2006. He was also preceded in death by one son, Donald J. Baker; a brother, William Baker; and two sisters, Marie Kelliher, and Betty Gray. He is survived by two daughters and two sons in law, Kathy and Allan Benson of Anderson, South Carolina, and Rebecca and Douglas Lewis of Dacula, Georgia; two sons and two daughters in law, Michael and Marcella Baker of Huntington Beach, California, and David and Leslie Baker of Winder, Georgia; 12 grandchildren: Brandon Baker, Miranda Baker Lowman (Jeffery), Michael Benson, Joseph Benson (Asheton), Sarah Benson Mosteller (Douglas), Kylie Clarke (Joseph), Jordan Baker, Jocelyn Baker, Justin Baker, Matthew Lewis, Lyndsey Lewis and Alyssa Lewis; 15 great grandchildren, Michael, Kiana, Layla, and Elijah Lowman; Elliot, Paxton and Levi Baker; Finn, Baker and Tate Mosteller; Loren and Landen Christensen, Makena and Joey Clarke; and Bennett Baker. Friends will be received on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 4:00-5:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Rochester, Pennsylvania next weekend. Inurnment will be in Mt. Olivet R.C. Cemetery, Aliquippa.
