Donald Joseph Kohlmayer, 87, of Anderson, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Rainey Hospice House. Born December 6, 1931, in Linden, NJ, he was the son of the late Frank and Katherine Bialias Kohlmayer. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Edward Kohlmayer; and nephew, Edward Michael Kohlmayer. Donald served in the United States Navy for 4 years, stationed in Panama as a flight engineer. He retired after 43 years of service from Singer Corp. After retirement to Fripp Island, he worked as a charter boat captain for 22 years. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean Murch Kohlmayer of the home; sons, Ken Kohlmayer (Karen) and Keith Kohlmayer (Carole); grandsons, Jason and Christopher Kohlmayer; sister-in-law, Ann Kohlmayer and niece, Kathie Kohlmayer.
