Parker, age 71, husband of Nancy Parker of 37 Lake Forest Drive, Iva, SC, died Friday, August 04, 2006 at his residence.Born in Piedmont, SC on November 27, 1934, Mr. Parker was a son of the late D. Monroe Parker and Minnie Ann Cope Parker. He was retired from Forsheda in quality control and also worked in construction. He served in the United States Air Force and was an avid fisherman and enjoyed softball. He was a member of Agape Faith Church of Anderson where he served as a former usher.Survivors include his wife of the home; son, Reverend Dennis D. Parker and his wife, Susan of Anderson, SC; brother, Calvin Parker of Greer, SC; sisters, Pauline Segovia and Marcelle Spearman, both of Piedmont, SC and Birdie Williams of Rock Hill, SC; two grandchildren, Grayson and Nichole Parker and three great-grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Ernest, Theodore, Scott and Verlin Parker and sisters, Ida Spearman, Tillie Mauldin and Christine Durham.The Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Agape Faith Church officiated by the Reverends Dennis D. Parker and John M. Daniel. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Saturday, August 5, 2006 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mr. Parker will be placed in the church at 1:30 pm on Sunday.The family will be at the home of his son.Flowers are optional.
