Donald James Perry, age 91, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Richard M Campbell Veterans Nursing Home. Born on November 24, 1925, in Arkport, NY, he was the son of the late Robert Perry and the late Ethel Porter Perry. He was the loving husband of the late Mable Morley Perry. Don proudly served his country, commissioned as an Ensign, in the United States Navy during WW II. Upon returning, he began his career in Pennsylvania as a dairy farmer. In 1965 he moved to Greenville, SC, where he attended Bob Jones University. After completing his education, he established a fencing business where he worked until his retirement. Don is survived by his children, Becky Boyd (David), Trina Shoaf (Dave), Rob Perry (Sandy), Randy Perry (Carolyn), Trudy Cole (Anthony), Toby Perry (Susan), Todd Perry (Cheryl), and Tim Perry (Terri); 36 grandchildren; and 67 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Don was predeceased by one brother; and two sisters. The family will receive friends at Victory Baptist Church prior to the funeral on Saturday, July 29, 2017, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens with military honors.
