Donald Westley Potter, age 62, of 101 Becky Street, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017, at his residence with his family by his side. Born in Ann Arbor, MI on July 15, 1954, he was the son of the late Arthur W. Potter and the late Rosemarie Louise Scheffler Potter. Mr. Potter served for a brief period in the United States Marine Corps. He was a machinist at Jacobs Chuck Manufacturing Company in Seneca, SC where he was employed for several years. He held a variety of other jobs as well, for as long as his health would permit. Donald was an avid collector of baseball cards, having a collection of almost a million cards. He was a devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers. He was of the Lutheran faith. Survivors include three brothers, Arthur H. Potter of Hampstead, NC, Robert L. Potter and his wife Ora of Anderson, and Kevin Potter and his partner Peggy Mullinax also of Anderson; three sisters, Sharon L. Lichlyter and her husband William of Howell, MI, Shirley M. Collopy and her fianc Robert Toner also of Howell, MI, and Dixie L. Hickey and her husband Rodney of Anderson. The funeral service to celebrate and honor the life of Donald W. Potter will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with the Reverend Dwight Greene officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
