Donald E. Vassar, 82 of Anderson, SC passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 at NHC of Anderson. Born July 8, 1935 in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Ellis Richard Vassar and the Late Elvie Jordan Vassar. He served his country in the United States Army and retired from Orr Mill as Weave Room Supervisor. He is survived by his sons, Jeff Vassar (Lisa) of Palm Coast, FL and Chris Vassar (Penny) of Anderson, SC; step-daughter, Laura Griffin; sister, Sue Cohen (Larry) of Port St. Lucie, FL and ten grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann HerringVassar; brother, Wayne Vassar and step-daughter, Theressa Williamson. The service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Wendell Bannister officiating.
