Donald (Don) George Zboravan, age 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 3, 2017, at the Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Leechburg, PA, on August 10, 1934, Don was a son of the late John Zboravan and the late Ada Jane Stitt Zboravan. He loved watching westerns, working in the yard, spending time with his cats and most of all his beloved mini-schnauzer, Patchy. His smile shined brightest when his grandchildren and great-grandchildren visited him. Don proudly served his country in the United States Navy for over 10 years, serving on the USS James C. Owens DD-776 and USS Boston CA-69, including time in Korea. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and was a faithful member of Gethsemane Baptist Temple. He retired from BASF after 28 years of service.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 29 years, Nellie K. Zboravan; children, John Howard Zboravan (Barbara), Dawn Annette Gailey, Robin Sue Arnold (Robert), Melanie Jane Eymard and Tim Jackson (Diana); brothers, Joe and Paul Zboravan; and his sister, Marjorie Jane Pochiba; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Robert Zboravan.
The Funeral Service with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 PM, on Thursday, February 9, 2017, at M. J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery with the Reverend Sam Duncan and Pastor Robbie Robertson officiating.
The family will be at their respective homes.
