Donald Earl Vaughn, age 70, of 210 James Street, passed away at his residence on Monday, February 29, 2016. Born on September 11, 1945, in Anderson, SC, he was the son of the late Charlie Legon Vaughn and the late Pansey Hughey Vaughn. For thirty-seven years, he was the loving and devoted husband of the late Peggy Latham Vaughn until her death in 2007. Mr. Vaughn proudly served his country in the US Army. For many years he was a sales associate at Harper Brothers Office Supplies in Anderson. He later was an installer for Budget Blinds. Donnie enjoyed being an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Survivors include his mother-in-law, Virginia D. Latham of Anderson; two sisters-in-law, Pat Latham Brown and Diane Latham Glenn, both of Anderson; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, Peggy, Donnie was preceded in death by a brother, Billy C. Vaughn, and four sisters, Helen Scott, Faye Skelton, Carolyn Poore, and Marie Skelton. A Graveside service to celebrate and honor the life of Donnie Vaughn will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016, at 2 PM at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with Reverend Dr. Steve Silvey officiating.
