He retired from Safeway Bread Company. Mr. Mahurin was a member of Lee Shoals Church of God and was an ordained minister.Survivors include his children: Jimmy Mahurin of Belton, Darla Spearman of Anderson, Steve Mahurin of Gainesville, Dee Gillespie of Easley, and Jerry Mahurin of Williamston; siblings: Vel Hobbs of Missouri, Sharon Kay Baughn of Oklahoma, Chester Mahurin of Missouri, and Lonnie Mahurin of Oklahoma; fifteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by Carl Mahurin, Bobby Mahurin, Lucille Stites, and Dorothy Jones.A Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
