Doris Williams Ayers, age 84, of Anderson, SC, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2021, at her home. Born March 20, 1937, in Clinton, SC, she was the daughter of the late W.D. and Thelma Williams. She was married to Charles Ayers until his death in 2005. Doris worked for many years in jewelry retail at Alexander's and Brendles. She was the top award- winning diamond sales associate. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, reading and listening to the Bible. Doris was the oldest living member of Salem Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Nancy Ayers; son-in-law, Tim Long; grandchildren, Gabriel Ayers (Crystal), Summer Ayers (Jamie), and Stephanie Epps (Mac); great grandchildren, Lily Ayers, Sylvia Ayers, and Samuel Epps; great-great granddaughter, Luna Donald; special family, Shawne Allen (Brett) and their daughter, Elizabeth Allen, and Donnie Ramsey; and many other loving family members. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Michael Ayers and Terry Ayers; daughter, Cathy Ayers Long; daughter-in-law, Diane Santangelo; brothers, Tommy and Buddy Williams; and sister, Catherine Stephenson. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 19, 2021, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm at Salem Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Dr. Charles Holland officiating.
