Doris Catherine Dean Tate, 75, of Anderson, wife of the late Jerry Michael Tate, went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 7, 2023.

Born in Anderson on February 19, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Joel William and Margaret Catherine Dean. Doris was a graduate of Camden High School in Camden, South Carolina, and then attended Palmer College in Columbia, South Carolina, and finished at Forrest Junior College in Anderson, South Carolina. She was a loving wife and mother who loved spending time with her family and friends. She attended Freedom Center Assembly of God in Anderson and loved her church family.

She is survived by a daughter, Jennifer L. Rogers (Casey); a sister, Sharon Dean Brown (Wilton); three nieces, Rebecca Kinley (Drake), Shannon Martin (Frank), and Audrey Shaw (JoJo); two nephews, Derrick Brown, and Robbie Griffin; two great nieces, Caleigh Finley, and Lily Shaw; and two sisters-in-law, Pat Griffin (Charles), and Mary Lou Finley (Terry).

She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years and her parents.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 10, 2023, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, at The McDougald Funeral Home, 2211 N. Main Street, Anderson, South Carolina, 29621. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Anderson.
