Doris Simpson Crook, age 86, of Iva, SC, loving wife to the late Jack Bronson Crook, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 4, 2022. Born December 26, 1935, in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Crayton Simpson and Willie Skelton Simpson. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a member of Poplar Spring Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Emily Crook Jacobs (Bill); sister, Ina Simpson Smith; grandchildren, Jeremy Jacobs (Samantha), and Andrea Jacobs McKee (Adam); and great-grandchildren, Miah and Sabrina Jacobs, and Maggie, Emma, Jack, and Gabe McKee. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Jack Michael Crook; six brothers; and two sisters. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Friday, September 9, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Poplar Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
