The McDougald Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 2211 North Main Street Anderson, South Carolina 29621 864-224-4343 OBITUARY: DORIS DRAKE FEBRUARY 23, 1927 - FEBRURAY 3, 2013 ANDERSON, SC Doris Clement Drake, age 85, wife of the late Robert Samuel Drake, passed away on Sunday, February 03, 2013 at the Rainey Hospice House. Born in Spartanburg, SC she was the daughter of the late Frank Clement and the late Annie Kay Clement. She graduated from Girls High in 1944. Mrs. Drake was a homemaker, and had also worked for Gene Anderson Department Store. She was a dedicated member of the Gideon Auxiliary, Belton Camp, Anderson Bible Study Fellowship and was a Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of the Union Grove United Methodist Church, where she was Sunday School Teacher for over 50 years and a member of the United Methodist Women's Group. She is survived by her two daughters, Sandra Altman and her husband, Bob of Anderson, SC, Barbara Thomas and her husband, Bob of Dillon, SC; son, Eddie Drake and his wife, Donna of Orange Park, FL; brother, Bobby R. Clement of Greenwood, SC; seven grandchildren, Ryan B. Drake, Justin C. Drake, Dr. Kevin R. Thomas and his wife, Dr. Sandra Thomas, Lindsey K. Thomas, Daniel R. Thomas, Amy Altman and Kimberly Altman. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Dorothy Alexander. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 10:30 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with the Reverend Amy Bratton and Reverend Howard Addis officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will be at the residence and will receive friends on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The family would like to give a special thank you for all the love and care shown to Mrs. Drake, by the Summit Place, National Health Care Unit#6, AnMed Health Medical Center and Hospice of the Upstate.
