Doris Cason Heller, age 97, of Belton, SC, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023, at Rainey Hospice House.
Born June 24, 1926, in the White Plains community of Anderson County, SC, she was a daughter of the late Elbert Ezekial Cason and Mae Dickerson Cason. She was married to Jacob Kedron "JK" Heller until his death in 2009. She was also preceded in death by 12 siblings. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Doris was a graduate of White Plains High School and formerly worked in the banking industry. She was a member of Second Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for over 50 years. She loved her family, her friends, and her church.
She is survived by her son, Kenneth Bryan Heller (Leretta); daughter, Brenda Gayle Heller; grandchildren, David Vaughn (Amy), Shaun Vaughn (Kelly), Bryan Vaughn (Samantha), Elizabeth Stone (Jeremy), and Katherine Cox (Shaun); great grandchildren, Lauren Stephens (Christopher), Alexis Vaughn, Jackson Vaughn, Colton Vaughn, Patrick Stone, Edie Kate Stone, Caitlyn Stone, Anna Cox, and James Cox; and great-great granddaughter, Emma-Gayle Stephens.
A special thank you is extended to the staff of Hospice of the Upstate for the love and care given to Doris.
The funeral service will be held Monday, October 30, 2023, at 1:30 pm at First Baptist Church of Belton with Rev. Nick Kirby and Rev. T. Dale Lynch officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church sanctuary. A private family committal service will be at Garden of Memories.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Baptist Church, 5901 Belton Hwy, Belton, SC 29627, or Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621.
The family will be at 113 Wildwood Drive, Belton, SC.
