Doris Jean Duncan Marshall, age 86, a resident of Morningside of Anderson, passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017, at her residence. Born on June 14, 1931, in Marion, NC, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Duncan and the late Myrtle Walker Duncan. For sixty-five years, she was the devoted and loving wife of the late Claude Franklin Marshall until his death in 2013. After graduation from high school, Mrs. Marshall was a bookkeeper at the A&P Grocery stores, a position from which she retired after many years of service. She is survived by two daughters, Vickie Marshall Trotter of Anderson, and Brenda Marshall Mullen and her husband, Chris, of Fredericksburg, VA; three grandchildren, Kelly Mullen McCoy, Gregory Thomas Trotter, and Jay Scott Trotter; three great grandchildren, Madison McCoy, Alaina McCoy, Ashley Trotter; and a brother, Fred B. Duncan and his wife, Lanelle of Birmingham, AL. In addition to her parents and husband, Claude, Doris was preceded in death by a grandson, Bradley Michael Trotter; two brothers, O. C. Duncan and Nick Duncan; and a sister, Lorie Noble. The family would like to thank the staff of Morningside Assisted Living, Doris Williford and Gentiva Hospice for the loving care they provided Mrs. Marshall while she was in their care. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Doris J. Marshall will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Mausoleum Chapel at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with Rev. Dwight Greene officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the Mausoleum Chapel following the service.
