Doris Vickery Rainey, age 87, passed away on January 31, 2016 at NHC of Anderson. She was the widow of Sam T. Rainey. Born in Hart County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Clarence C. Vickery and Dessie Brown Vickery. She was a member of Concord Baptist Church and the Faith Sunday School Class. She was formerly a member of Starr UMC Church. Doris was a retiree of AT&T, formerly known as Bellsouth. Survivors include her son, John V. Rainey (Brenda); one granddaughter, Amanda J. Rainey, DVM; sisters, Bobbie Jean Cash, Gladys Davenport; brothers, Forrest, Charles, and Billy Ray Vickery; many nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Mary Kirkpatrick. The Funeral Service will be conducted at The McDougald Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 2, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. with Mr. Andy Garrison officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. The family will be at their respective homes.
