Doris Stanley Rogers, age 87, of Anderson loving wife to the late James Richard Rogers, Jr., for 64 years, passed away Friday, October 29, 2021, at AnMed Health Medical Center.
Born June 26, 1934, in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Solomon Gilbert Stanley and Lorene Deitz Stanley. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Doris loved watching soap operas otherwise known as "stories", was very independent, and enjoyed collecting bells and salt and pepper shakers. She was a member of House of Prayer Church. She also loved Clemson and went to all the games until she got sick.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice L. Richey (Ronnie), and her husband Ronnie, of Honea Path; son, James Richard "Ricky" Rogers, III (Wanda) of Anderson; four grandchildren, Rhonda Kitzmiller, Gerald Dixon, and TJ and Matthew Richey; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles Dwayne "Buddy" Rogers; sister, Hazel Faye Massey; brothers, William Joe "Bill" Stanley, and Charles Deetz "Buddy" Stanley.
A private graveside service will be held at New Silver Brook Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Nation officiating.
The family will be at their respective homes.
