Doris Fay Alexander Smith, age 90, of Belton, SC, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Rainey Hospice House. She was born April 19, 1930 in Ninety Six, SC, and was the daughter of the late Willard Wayne Alexander and Catherine Berry Alexander. She was married to J.W. Smith until his death on February 14, 2021. Doris was an apartment manager for many years with HUD. She loved working in her yard but she especially loved her family. Being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother brought her the most joy. Doris was a long time, faithful member of Whitefield Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, Cecil Smith (Pat) of Belton, SC, Wayne Smith of Williamston, SC, and Hal Smith of Belton, SC; daughters, Wanda Taylor of Belton, SC, and Cari Kinard (Joey) of Williamston, SC; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mama Tuohy. The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Clardy officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30-10:30 am. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
