Doris Wilson Burdette, 78, of Starr, SC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 13, 2020 at her home. She was born on January 11, 1942 in Seneca, SC and was the daughter of the late Henry Wilson and Ethel Gilliam Wilson. She was married for 58 years to Sloan C. Burdette until his death in 2018. Doris was a graduate of Girls High and was formerly employed with Anderson School District Five. She is survived by her sons, Dale Burdette (Sandra) and James Burdette (Amy); and grandchildren, Brittany Burdette (Daniel Hart), Jarrett Burdette, Dekota Burdette (Ashley), Mae Burdette (Austin Kinley), Sloan Burdette and Zach Burdette; and great-grandchildren, Gus, John Wayne, and Cora (on the way). In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Mike Burdette. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 from 12:00-2:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 pm with Pastor Scott Burdette officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
