Dorothy Downie Anderson Anderson, SC Dorothy Downie Anderson, age 85, devoted wife of Judge G. Ross Anderson, Jr.,for 64 years, passed away on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at her residence. Born in Cape May, NJ, on September 10, 1929 she was the daughter of the late John Downie and the late Myrtle Margaret Hurst Downie. Mrs. Anderson was previously employed by South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles until her marriage to Judge G. Ross Anderson, Jr. in 1951. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Anderson where she formerly taught the children's choir. She is survived by her husband, Judge G. Ross Anderson, Jr.; son, G. Ross Anderson, III of Anderson, SC.; sisters, Ruth Truland of NC, Gwen Steedle of NJ and Margaret Sinard of TX; grandson, Nicholas Anderson a senior at Clemson University. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 12:30 pm in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home, with the Reverend Dr. James Thomason officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm.
