Dorothy Haynie Ballard, age 83, of Anderson, SC, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Oconee Medical Center. Born on February 23, 1934, in Hartwell, GA, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie Haynie and the late Carrie Maret. Dorothy was self-employed as a CNA. She was a devoted member of Southside Baptist Church in Anderson, SC. Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Cathy Ballard Hunt (Jimmy) of Kings Mountain, NC, and Linda Ballard Frost, of Anderson, SC; a brother, Walter Haynie (Lottie) of Indiana; sisters, Mary Duskin of Anderson, SC, Sara Gurley of Bowersville, GA, and Evelyn White of Hartwell, GA; four grandchildren, Adam Frost, Amy Troxell, Julie Major, and Amanda White; 11 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, John T. Ballard; and a grandchild, Jamey Hunt.
